1. Cycle Your Batteries

As hunting season inches closer it is a good idea to get your Ozonics unit out and cycle your batteries.  Cycling your batteries is a process of fully charging your battery, then fully depleting the battery, and then recharging it all the way up again.  Think of cycling your batteries like exercise.  The more you exercise the better shape you get in.  Cycling your batteries keeps them in shape and in good working condition for when you need them the most.

Cycle your Ozonics battery using this method:

  • Charge your battery all the way up in the charger. The charging light will switch from solid red to solid green when the battery is fully charged.
  • Put the battery in your Ozonics unit, and place it in a well-ventilated area. Turn the unit on, and let it run until it shuts itself off. This operation will fully deplete the battery.
  • Put the battery back in the charger and let it charge to its full capacity, and your battery is good to go!

2. A Clean Ozonics is a Happy Ozonics

As the hunting season progresses our gear takes a beating.  Take a few minutes and give your Ozonics a little TLC.  Use a damp paper towel or rag and clean up the outside of your Ozonics unit.  There is no need to take your Ozonics apart, but spend some time removing the grit and grime off from past seasons.

When it comes to cleaning the inside of your Ozonics a can of dry compressed air will be your tool of choice.  If you are not familiar with dry compressed air it is often used to clean computer keyboards and other types of electronics.  The most important key is dry clean air.  You do not want to use the air compressor in your garage.  The moisture in the line from a normal air compressor will do more harm than good when blasted against your Ozonics internal components.  To clean the inside of your Ozonics take the can of dry air, make sure the unit is turned off, and spray out the bottom fan intake, front-facing grill and coil.  No pun intended, but you will be blown away by how much dust and debris collects inside your Ozonics unit.

3. Check over your Ozonics accessories

The time to figure out that you forgot to switch out your blind bracket for the tree screw on your mounting system is not when you are trying to screw it into the tree on the first day of the hunt.  Inventory your Ozonics accessories and get your gear in order.

Here is a checklist we recommend:

  • Check over your mounting systems to make sure you have the tree screws or blind bracket connections for what your hunt may call for.
  • Clean out your Kinetic Pack and make sure you know where everything is located.
  • Look over your DriWash Bag and take it outside and shake out all the dirt from last season.
  • Make sure you have the cords and cups from your charger connected and ready.

4. How old is your Ozonics?  Is it time for recertification?

As one hunting season leads into the next specific details and dates all start to blur together, but take a minute and think about how many seasons you have been hunting with your Ozonics.  We strive to provide you cutting-edge products that make you a more successful hunter.  Eventually, wear and tear will take its toll on your hunting gear, including your Ozonics.

And that is exactly why we created OzoniCare—a program designed to keep your Ozonics operating up to Ozonics Quality Standards (OQS) throughout the life of your Ozonics unit.

The life cycle of your Ozonics can be influenced by several variables:

  • Your care and handling of your Ozonics.
  • How much you use your Ozonics (total runtime hours).
  • The environmental elements your Ozonics is exposed to during those hours.

As your Ozonics ages and the coil is exposed to airborne particulate, internal parts will eventually get dirty.  This happens more quickly in extremely dusty and high-humidity environments.  You can inspect the internal coil of your Ozonics by turning on your unit in a dark room and examining the coil through the front grille while the Ozonics is running.  The entire coil should be glowing purple.  If you see dark spots on the coil, this indicates the areas of the coil that have become dirty or have degraded over time—as these dark areas increase, the amount of ozone produced decreases.

To help maintain your Ozonics in the best possible condition, the recertification process is designed to inspect, repair, recondition, test and certify your Ozonics back to our Ozonics Quality Standards (OQS) to give you peace of mind that it is performing at its best.  We recommend returning your HR200, HR230, HR300 or Orion to Ozonics after no more than 3 full seasons of use to have the product recertified.

5. It is time for an Ozonics upgrade?

Lastly, it might be time for an upgrade.  You have seen firsthand the power of what an Ozonics can do for you.  Your Ozonics has allowed you to see more deer, harvest more deer, and be more successful.  Is it time for you to take it to the next level?
