I was hunting a food plot on October 1st, our muzzleloader opener. I had been getting a lot if deer on camera, so hope were high. I slipped in to a ladder stand positioned on a pecan tree and settled in for the afternoon hunt. I hung my HR300 above my head even though the wind was favorable. The deer started filtering into the field and just like the wind usually does here in the south, switched directions. I had seven deer in the field then he stepped out. My shot was true, and none of the deer even winded me! I ended up killing my target buck on that property. He weighed 175 lbs, had 8 points, and had a 18" spread.
